How To Block Text Messages Coming From Email Gateways

Are you getting spammed on your phone from all directions? Is it by the same group of companies? You don’t have to deal with this harassment of hearing an irrelevant ping every minute of every day.

You can block text messages coming from email gateways in a quick and simple process. For one, most messages coming from such gateways are usually done for bulk text advertising, to get you interested in a product or service.

Maybe once, without discretion, you showed a slight interest in what this company had to say, or you’ve probably never had contact at all. That’s because data companies usually sell leads of contacts to marketers, based on your demographic. Even Facebook does it. But just like email, you can unsubscribe from texts or block it altogether.

Different phones and companies will have different methods of blocking SMS spam and some examples include:

  • Contacting your phone service carrier themselves and politely asking the customer service agent to block text messages that come from email gateways. It should be noted that if you do this, you won’t receive really useful text from friends in an emergency. What’s the solution for this? If the messages are coming from one email alone, report it, or read on for other tips on blocking SMS spam:
  • When they said there’s an app for everything, they were right! If you own a smartphone, you can download a few apps to block the number or email altogether
  • Google Voice User? You’re in luck! Log into your account and report the messages as spam once and for all
  • Go face to face with your spammer – just kidding. But seriously, most text messages that are sent from email gateways will have one way of stopping the messages for good, and this can be done by replying STOP in to the text SMS spam.  Many times it will even say so in the message, just in a finer script

Blacklist, spam control, whatever you call it, that wasn’t too hard to get rid of this annoyance… was it?

Stay tuned for more updates on being a texting guru and sending text messages for free online.
